PAWS4You Rescue Gala
Paws4You — which rescues, shelters, fosters and finds home for pets in Miami held a star-studded gala at the historic Biltmore Hotel. With Chopard as a sponsor, the Coral Gables ballroom was glam and got a nice dose of the north, as Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Guidice served as ambassador. Communications authority Cynthia Demos with Zoo Miami’s Ron Magill were the night’s MCs and Liz and Luis Miguel Messianu were honorees. Circulating the chic and canine-caring crowd: animal activist Angela Birdman and public relations powerhouse Dana Rhoden.
Miami Children’s Museum LEAP INTO THE FUTURE themed gala
Miami Children’s Museum had an incredibly successful “Leap Into the Future” with its Be a Kid Again gala of that theme. Soho Studios was buzzing with supporters in futuristic fashions and the place packed with people including Jeff Berkowitz, Dave Barry, Cristina Mas & David Adler, Melissa Netkin, Jose & Heidi Dans, Hayley & Jeff Sloman, Claudia Potamkin and her three children, Andi Potamkin, Cole Potamkin and Adam Potamkin, Elaine Bloom, Judy & Michael Adler, Stephen & Laurie Riemer and Jennifer Boin Getz & Julio Lopez-Brito. Guests at the cocktail hour nibbled on the likes of lamb chops and lobster rolls before the main event, where they feasted on dinner from food stations serving gourmet fare. Live music and a lit dance floor lured everyone up to celebrate.
Dolphins Cancer Challenge
The Dolphins Cancer Challenge – a signature initiative of the Miami Dolphins Foundation in partnership with the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center – is an event in which more than 3000 participants come out to bike ride, walk, run or volunteer throughout various routes in the tri county area. To date, it’s raised more than $32 million for cancer research. This year’s top fundraising team was Lennar, bringing in more than $1.2 million and the top individual fundraiser being Eric Feder, raising $353,660. Other big fundraisers, Stuart Miller ($211,654,) Jon Jaffe ($201,298,) Adam Carlin ($175,150,) Eric Pfeil ($133,100,) Stephen Neimer ($127,310,) Rick Beckwitt ($118,000) and Jose Dans ($100,464.)
