A Cause for Laughter
Just the Funny theater is presenting LOL: Ladies Out Loud, an all-female cast of comedians performing to benefit LEAP, an organization providing life skills to incarcerated women. The variety show of improv, original sketches and musical parodies stars the women of Just the Funny’s award-winning company. This marks the third time South Florida’s most prolific and celebrated improv theatre shows its feminine side– of some 40 cast members, about half are female — and puts its proceeds to good use. LEAP’s prison education program teaches practical employment, entrepreneurship, and essential life skills. Cruising for the Next Gala
Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade held a festive, kid-friendly event to announce a major donation by Norwegian cruise lines. City of Miami Mayor Frances Suarez, Norwegian president and CEO Andy Stuart and Boys and Girls Clubs president Alex Rodriguez-Roig were there to announce the cruise line would donate it’s yet-to-launch billion-dollar ship, Norwegian Encore, for the non-profit organization’s 13th annual “Wild About Kids” Gala. Stuart and his wife Allison Stuart will chair the gala and work to raise over $1.5 million.
Cheers to Children
Dedicating the country for a week to a single beverage is serious so for Negroni Week – sure, it could be a real thing –we can enjoy these gin cocktails at MO Bar at Mandarin Oriental.
