The Edit, Episode 8
South Beach Wine & Food Festival
Miami celebrated its most delicious days with the Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival, now in its 18th year. The fundraiser the Chaplin School for Hospitality & Tourism Management at Florida International University draws over 60,000 guests and the A-list culinary talent, including Giada De Laurentiis, Charles Phan, Michael Schwartz, Daniel Boulud, and Geoffrey Zakarian. One of the festival’s signature events – The Goya Foods’ Grand Tasting Village – treated guests to samplings from over 50 restaurants and an array of wines and spirits including a Kettle One pop offering low-carb cocktails and the ability to choose your own garnish, a Don Julio bar with mixed drinks and also the opportunity to sip the 1942 vintage straight, a colorful array of Aperol spritzers and a Bombay Sapphire stop, with herbal gin samplings. The array of wines is always impressive but this year featured a global selection of rosés including a bar from Taub Family Selections which imports bottles from the likes of Italy and France. The afternoon ended with the crowd rocking to a performance by Ludacris and more musical sensations from the David Grutman Experience.
