GREATER MIAMI JEWISH FEDERATION’S The Main Event, 2023
Attendees welcomed Israel’s 13th Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and raised more than $4 million to support 160 vital programs that strengthen Jewish life in Miami, in Israel and in more than 70 other countries around the world.
It was “One Great Night for Community” and “One Great Night for Israel” as nearly 1,000 Miamians came together at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel for The Main Event, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation’s largest fundraising event of the year. Guests celebrated together and provided generous support for the Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign.
Attendees welcomed Israel’s 13th Prime Minister Naftali Bennett who was interviewed by Israeli television journalist Tal Heinrich. They candidly discussed various topics ranging from Iran’s nuclear position, the ongoing war in Ukraine and the political challenges facing the people of Israel today.
Federation Board Chair Ariel Bentata welcomed the enthusiastic crowd and General Campaign Chair Lily Serviansky gave a heartfelt fundraising appeal about how Federation support improves the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of individuals and families at home and abroad.
Lesley Goldwasser and Jonathan Plutzik chaired The Main Event and shared how the Federation system played critical roles in the resettlement of prior generations of their families in the United States.
Business leader and philanthropist Daniel Lewis was recognized with Federation’s 2023 Friend of Israel Humanitarian Award, which was presented by Federation President & CEO Jacob Solomon.
The Main Event raised more than $4 million for the 2023 Federation/UJA Campaign, which supports 160 vital programs and strengthens Jewish life in Miami, in Israel and in more than 70 other countries around the world, especially important given the increased needs of this past year.
