The Trend Event Party
Neiman Marcus Coral Gables hosts first fashion event of the season
Neiman Marcus Coral Gables and SocialMiami.com kicked off the fashion season with a Fall 2013 Trend Event at the Village of Merrick Park. Guests were among the first to preview this fall’s hottest trends and they enjoyed trunk shows throughout the store, including Ippolita and Christian Louboutin, as well as a fashion show in the CUSP department. This year the trend event supported Fashionably Conscious, an annual fashion fundraising sale at the Village of Merrick Park that benefits Coconut Grove Cares’ The Barnyard Community Center, an organization that provides free after school and summer camp programs for children with financial and domestic hardships. The host committee collected gently worn designer items during the event.
Check out these four host committee members modeling some of the latest fall looks.

Fashionably Conscious originated with Ali Codina, board member of Coconut Grove Cares. Following college, Codina became a board member and learned that due to budget cuts at state and local levels, the services the organization provides to families free of charge were in serious jeopardy. From that knowledge, Codina began the fundraising initiative Fashionably Conscious with friends Marcia Martinez, Liza Walton and Annette Lopez. To date, Fashionably Conscious has raised close to $200,000.
