Trina Turk in Bal Harbour
Famed designer sits down with SocialMiami.com
Kelly Gold hosted a fabulous shopping event with fashion designer Yigal Azrouel at Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour. The event featured Azrouel’s spring 2010 collection and attendees had the opportunity to meet the designer while roaming models sampled looks.
Among those in attendance included Hollen Rosenberg, Jillian Jacobson-Altit and her mother Susan Jacobson, Ashlee Harrison, Jennifer Postrel, Katharine Fleischman, Joana Siegel, Charmaine Campbell, Shireen Sandoval and Monica Suleski.
SocialMiami sat down with the laid back designer – who was casually dressed in cotton twill drawstring pants, sandals and a classic American pullover shirt – to learn about his collection, celebrity fans, inspirations and plans for the future.

Performance Supports Arts Education
“Miami’s artistic evolution has to begin from the ground up,” said Dr. Kievman. “This event that we have put together will give the community a taste of what we are doing here at SoBe Arts. We’re very excited to have arts and culture lovers come to the Carl Fisher Clubhouse, the oldest building in Miami Beach, and see how we have repurposed this structure for the cultural betterment of Miami Beach and Miami-Dade as a whole. It’s a magical space and I encourage people to come and experience and help ensure that Miami continues to evolve as a cultural community through the education of its youth.”
Mikey’s Cause at the Mondrian
15-year-old 7th grader Michael Brewer (affectionately known by his family and friends as “Mikey”) was assaulted by his peers, covered in rubbing alcohol, and lit on fire. As a result, 65% of Michael’s body is covered in second and third degree burns. Though in critical condition, Michael is currently recovering at the Jackson Memorial Burn Unit. In support of Michael, “Mikey’s Cause” was spearheaded by CBS 4 Weatherman, Jeff Berardelli, CBS 4 Anchorwoman Cynthia Demos and CBS4 Weatherwoman Lissette Gonzalez at the Mondrian Hotel.
