Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon
Set in historic gardens at Vizcaya, the annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon celebrated the splendor of the gardens and raised funds to protect, preserve and restore the treasured estate. Hosted by The Vizcayans and Neiman Marcus, the day began with cocktails and garden tours followed by an al fresco lunch and informal modeling showcasing Spring 2010.
Friuli-Venezia Giulia
In a little known part of Italy, rich in history and with a tradition of fine cuisine and world-class wine, you will find the mountainous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Tucked away in a corner of Italy, it’s the smallest, least populated and least visited of all the country’s regions. Geographically, it is north-east of Venice, south of the Austrian province of Carinthia and west of the Slovenian Alps and the point where three of the great European cultures – Latin, Germanic and Slavic – come together.
Cocktails for a Cause
The Melanie Finley Ovarian Cancer Foundation hosted a socially conscious soiree at Plunge’s rooftop lounge at the Gansevoort. More than 100 supporters and friends celebrated Cocktails for a Cause to further the cause of this grassroots charity that raises money for ovarian cancer education and financial assistance to young women diagnosed with the disease. Guests enjoyed an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, music and a silent auction to help the cause.
