Vizcaya Sparkles at its “Jewel of South Florida” Ball
Vizcaya sparkled at its 58th Annual Ball, which took place on Saturday, November 22. Guests walked down the 200-foot red carpet to the black-tie event, themed “Vizcaya, The Jewel of South Florida.” The evening’s festivities included a stylish cocktail reception with a seafood bar; catering by A Joy Wallace Catering, Design & Special Events; floral arrangements by Bayfront Floral and Event Design; entertainment by The Chase Band; a sensational silent auction; and a special performance by The Florida Chamber Orchestra featuring opera singers. Close to 400 guests danced into the night and watched fireworks along Biscayne Bay.
The 58th Annual Vizcaya Ball Co-Chairs are Sonia Gibson, Stella M. Holmes, Cathy L. Jones, Donald A. Kress, Laura C. Munilla and James W. Murphy, and was sponsored by 89.7 Classical South Florida and Republic National Distributing Company.
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a National Historic Landmark that preserves the Miami estate of agricultural industrialist James Deering to engage our community and its visitors in learning through the arts, history and the environment. Built between 1914 and 1922, Vizcaya is one of the most intact remaining examples from this era in United States history, when the nation’s most successful entrepreneurs built lavish estates inspired by the stately homes of Europe.
