CHAPMAN PARTNERSHIP’s Take A Walk in Her Shoes Redesigned
From the museum's waterfront terrace and from home, guests toasted artistic achievements and celebrated Miami’s resilient arts community.
Womenade’s annual Take A Walk in Her Shoes walked a new path this year with Take a Walk in Her Shoes Redesigned on Friday, May 7. at the Biltmore Hotel and various Watch Parties hosted in homes across the community. The event was organized by Womenade, a group of women dedicated to increasing awareness and revenue for Chapman Partnership.
The luncheon was a huge success and connected guests to delight in delectable bites, cocktails by Grey Goose Essences and Miami Cocktail Co. and sweet treats to support one unifying mission – empowering the homeless women and children at Chapman Partnership.
The immersive video program that connected 315 guests in the hybrid event was emceed by six-time Emmy award winning journalist, Laurie Jennings, and Symeria Hudson, President and CEO of Chapman Partnership. Inspiring stories of hope were shared by three 2021 Take a Walk in Her Shoes honorees: accomplished actress Gabrielle Anwar; passionate philanthropist Asha Elias; and Miami-Dade County Public School’s Teacher of the Year Teresa Murphy; and Chapman Partnership resident.
Together, the 150 in-person participants at The Biltmore Hotel and the 165 guests who attended various Watch Parties hosted across the city in private homes and yachts , raised more than $175,000 to advance the services and programs offered to the residents at Chapman Partnership.
The event’s success was driven in part by the generosity of its sponsors: Trish & Dan Bell, Coral Gables Trust, Greenberg Traurig, Andi Phillips Communication, Templeton Family Foundation, Trivest,Kaufman Rossin, Grey Goose Vodka, Miami Cocktails and Kwaya Wines
During the luncheon, the nonprofit launched it’s “Count On Me” campaign to help end homelessness for the women and children at Chapman Partnership. The new appeal asked guests to commit to a sustaining pledge of $50 for 12 months and receive Womenade membership. To donate visit chapmanpartnership.org/countonme.
The fashion-forward luncheon was followed by a lively After Party Happy Hour at Cerveceria La Tropical. Guests supported Chapman Partnership’s residents while enjoying fabulous bites by Chef Cindy Hutson, home-brewed beer and deliciously crafted cocktails.
