Women’s Fund 10th Annual Raise the Bar Networking Event

The 10th annual Raise the Bar gathered over 350 guests at the Miami Center of Architecture & Design in downtown Miami. The networking cocktail reception raised over $45,000 for The Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade to fund community programs that work with survivors of domestic violence and sex trafficking. Professionals from the legal and accounting communities as well as Women’s Fund long-time supporters packed the beautiful and unique gallery space while bidding on silent auction items, enjoying passed hors d’oeuvres provided by Chef Elisa Catering and sipping on wine and tasty Bacardi cocktails.

8th Annual Breaking the Silence Luncheon

Kristi House and 350 friends and supporters came together for organization’s 8th Annual Breaking the Silence program designed to raise awareness and support for children overcoming sexual abuse and sexual exploitation.

Event Philanthropic Chairs Lourdes Leon-Vega and Dr. Otto Vega laid the foundation for raising an amazing $332,000 in gifts and pledges for services this year, helping to surpass $2 million raised since the program’s inception. Presenting Sponsor Badia Spices underwrote all the costs of the event, enabling 100% of proceeds to go directly to help child-victims.

14th Annual Dinner Meeting and Awards

The 2014-2016 Executive Board of Jewish Community Services was installed at JCS’ 14th Annual Meeting held at Temple Israel. The dinner also honored the Sheryl Greenwald & Sam Berman Charitable Foundation with the JCS Community Partner Award; while the Minyan Group of Young Israel of Aventura received JCS’ Helping Hands Award, for their invaluable assistance in JCS’ efforts to annually serve more 25,000 people throughout Miami-Dade. Sam Silverstein, author of “No More Excuses,” delivered the keynote address.
