National YoungArts Foundation’s celebratory evening of artistic immersion will bring together prominent artists, community leaders, philanthropists and celebrities to recognize the 2015 YoungArts Winners. This event is the National YoungArts Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser and the culmination of its signature program, National YoungArts Week, which will take place January 4 through 11, 2015. National YoungArts Week provides approximately 170 of the nation’s most outstanding 15-18 year old (or grades 10-12) artists with life-changing experiences, including master classes, workshops, inter-disciplinary activities, performances and exhibitions.

The YoungArts Ball, a magical evening of performance and festivities, kicks off the 2015 social season. It features cocktails, dinner and dancing, and a one-of-a-kind performance by incredibly talented YoungArts alumni from around the nation. Three prominent awardees will also be recognized for their invaluable commitment to the arts.

About the National YoungArts Foundation

The National YoungArts Foundation (formerly known as the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts) was established in 1981 by Lin and Ted Arison to identify and nurture the next generation of artists in the literary, visual, design and performing arts. Each year, YoungArts receives more than 11,000 applications from the nation’s most talented young artists 15-18 year old or grades 10-12. From this pool, approximately 700 Winners are selected through a blind adjudication process and are recognized for their outstanding work and accomplishments.

To date, YoungArts has honored more than 20,000 young artists, including Doug Aitken, Josh Groban, Jenji Kohan, Desmond Richardson and Kerry Washington, with over $6 million in monetary awards; facilitated in excess of $150 million in college scholarship opportunities; and enabled its participants to work with master teachers who are among the most distinguished artists in the world, such as Marina Abramović, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Jacques d’Amboise, Zaha Hadid, Quincy Jones, Robert Redford and Martin Scorsese.

Some of YoungArts’ work is featured in the three-time Emmy-nominated HBO program YoungArts MasterClass, which chronicles the work of renowned artists sharing their art and life experiences with YoungArts Winners. YoungArtsMasterClass specials have featured Edward Albee, Olafur Eliasson, Josh Groban, Patti LuPone, Bobby McFerrin, Julian Schnabel, Kathleen Turner and more. Upcoming programs will feature Alan Alda, Joshua Bell and Robert Redford. In addition, YoungArts is working with world-renowned architect and YoungArts Artistic Advisor Frank Gehry to transform the recently acquired former Bacardi Tower and Museum buildings and three-and-a-half acre campus into its nationalheadquarters, which will support expanded local activities in Miami and across the country.
