Youth Fair Events Benefit Student Scholarships
For the first-time ever, the concessionaires of The Youth Fair united to organize two events – the Red Thornberry & Miami-Dade Youth Fair Scholarship Golf Classic and the Lobster Fest. Proceeds of nearly $30,000 from sponsorship packages and tickets from both events benefit the scholarship fund for Miami-Dade County students. Named in honor of Red Thronberry, a game vendor at the Youth Fair, the golf classic included 18 holes of championship golf, barbeque buffet, fun bags for all players and door prizes. At the inaugural Lobster Fest Scholarship Fundraiser, guests enjoyed fresh Maine lobsters along with coleslaw and corn on the cob, a Youth Fair favorite.
