Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, in partnership with Neiman Marcus Coral Gables and Land Rover Coral Gables, successfully hosted the 14th annual Splendor in the Garden event. This prestigious event was a remarkable blend of fashion, philanthropy, and community engagement.

Swanee DiMare, a revered figure in the community, served as the Honorary Chair of the event, bringing her unique charm and leadership to the forefront. The fashion show was a highlight of the day, where Wes Gordon, the esteemed Creative Director of Carolina Herrera, presented his much-anticipated Spring Collection 2024. This year’s Splendor in the Garden was particularly special as it recognized and honored past Fairchild Philanthropy Award Recipients since 2012, many of whom attended and lent their support to the charity and the event.

The day unfolded with elegance and excitement, starting with a champagne reception, followed by a delightful luncheon catered by La Basque. The Neiman Marcus fashion show captivated the audience, showcasing Wes Gordon’s latest collection, which was met with wide acclaim. Laurie Jennings, a six-time Emmy winner, graced the event as the host, adding an extra layer of sophistication to the proceedings.

The Splendor in the Garden event was more than a celebration of fashion and philanthropy; it was a vital fundraiser for Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Proceeds from the event were instrumental in raising awareness and funding for numerous conservation, science, horticulture, and educational programs at the Garden. These initiatives included global conservation efforts, local horticultural enhancements, and educational outreach programs that impacted over 300,000 schoolchildren annually. Through events like Splendor in the Garden, Fairchild continues to establish itself as a leader in environmental stewardship and education.
