The Coral Gables Community Foundation successfully hosted its seventh annual “Vinos at the Plaza” Wine Auction on November 20, 2025, raising a record amount of donations. These funds will directly benefit the Foundation’s scholarship and community grant programs, following a historic year in which the Foundation awarded a record $3.25 million in scholarship aid to deserving high school seniors.

The event took place at the 7th Floor Terrace of The Plaza Coral Gables on a beautiful, moonlit night. Guests enjoyed balmy breezes and an incredible view of the “City Beautiful” while participating in a curated wine auction featuring selections from some of South Florida’s most prestigious private collections. Honorary Chairs for the evening were Mayor Vince Lago and his wife, Olga Mari Lago.

During the festivities, Community Foundation Board Chair Michael Walsh announced a special tribute to the evening’s co-chairs. In recognition of his service to the community, the Foundation has established the 2026 Mayor Vince and Olga Mari Lago Scholar award..
