4th Annual Wine, Women & Shoes Raises More Than $600,000
Benefiting Miami Children’s Health Foundation
The 4th Annual Wine, Women & Shoes (WW&S) presented by Sergio Rossi, was held at the JW Marriot Marquis, and raised more than $600,000 for Miami Children’s Hospital. The event brought together 600 of Miami’s most philanthropic and fashion forward ladies with the common interest of supporting the institution’s world-class pediatric healthcare.
The lively afternoon featured wine tastings, a silent auction with one-of-a-kind items, a delicious lunch, and a fashion show featuring items from Neiman Marcus Coral Gables. Guests were also able to shop at the exclusive marketplace featuring Ana Mari Ortega, Artesano Cudesso, Dennis Basso, Eberjey, En Avance, Lostmarc’h, Monisha Melwani Jewelry, Purificacion Garcia, Sergio Rossi, and Sirissima/Clement Willoch.
Serving as this year’s Master of Ceremonies was CBS 4’s very own Emmy Award-winning entertainment reporter, Lisa Petrillo, while Criselda Breene and Carola Pimentel reprised their roles as co-chairs.
“We are so grateful for the tremendous generosity of the women in South Florida, as well as our committee members, who helped make this such a successful event,” said Co-chairs, Breene and Pimentel. “Because of the support of our community, we have become the highest Wine, Women & Shoes revenue-making event in the country.”
Not only did the fun-filled event give guests the opportunity to enjoy fine wine and great style, but also offered a new element this year, the Key to the Closet. This new initiative gave one lucky winner, Rosana Gorrin, the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at winning a year’s worth of Sergio Rossi shoes. Every month for the next 12 months, Gorrin will receive a $1,000 gift certificate to the Sergio Rossi Bal Harbour Boutique.
The highlight of the event however, was the uplifting story of Miami Children’s Hospital patient, Gracie. Her mom, Karin Penkala was in attendance and shared with the audience their experience selecting Miami Children’s Hospital and its team of dedicated physicians to entrust with their daughter’s life. Gracie was diagnosed with Down syndrome and a congenital heart condition prior to her birth, which required complex surgery. Gracie’s story will be highlighted by the foundation in March as part of its Patient of the Month initiative.
