Walk the “red carpet” with your dog at Pawpurrazzi, chaired by Pat and Milton Wallace and Bunny Bastian, and show him or her off to the hundreds of people who attend this spectacular celebration for the animals. And since it benefits the Humane Society of Greater Miami, all funds raised will support homeless animals and help them to find their forever homes.

This one-of-a-kind event, scheduled for Friday, January 24, 2014 at Jungle Island, attracts Miami’s most influential pet loving philanthropists and their dogs to enjoy an evening filled with great food, great music, an exciting silent auction, and the “Great Pets Who Walk in Front of Great People” show. All four-legged models can expect full star-treatment, indulging in specialty treats, doggie ice cream, doggie artists and much more. This event will be the talk of the town!

The Humane Society of Greater Miami’s premier fundraiser takes place annually to raise much needed funds for the care, medical treatment and shelter of more than 300 animals on a daily basis.

About Humane Society of Greater Miami

The Humane Society of Greater Miami has been helping homeless animals in Miami-Dade County since 1936. Today, more than 300 homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens each day are cared for at the Soffer and Fine Adoption Center in North Miami Beach. We are able to give these animals a second chance by providing tender loving care, a good meal, shelter and medical care for as long as it takes to find them homes with kind, responsible and committed caregivers.

The organization works diligently at creating a more kind, just and loving community for the pets and people of Miami-Dade County. We offer programs and services to educate, inform and inspire people to take responsible care of their pets and treat animals with the kindness they deserve. With the support of people from across Miami-Dade County, we are helping to create a better community for all.

Each animal that is cared for at our shelter is free from the threat of euthanasia while they wait for their forever family. In 2012, close to 3,200 animals found their human companions and began their new lives in the comfort of homes around our community and South Florida. All pets are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and micro-chipped before becoming available for adoption. In addition, we go to great lengths to make sure the pet is healthy and disease-free. We provide counseling and guidance to make sure the right match is made and the right pet is adopted into the right home.

We run two veterinary clinics, one in North Miami Beach and another in Cutler Bay where we strive to end our community’s pet overpopulation problem by performing more than 13,000 sterilization surgeries each year. We have programs that help the financially challenged people of our community by providing free services for vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries.

The Humane Society of Greater Miami is a not-for-profit charitable animal welfare organization supported solely by donations, private grants and fundraising events. We are not government funded and rely on our local community for financial support. For more information, please call 305-749-1815 or visit our website, www.HumaneSocietyMiami.org.
