7th Annual It’s All About the Kids

Event raises more than $260,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Friends of St. Jude (FOSJ) Miami, a young professionals group dedicated to supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® and chaired by Jeb Bush Jr., celebrated its seventh annual International Dermatology “It’s All About the Kids” event, presented by the Andrés Asion Foundation on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the JW Marriott Marquis.

“It was a very successful event and gratifying to know that we are helping children battle cancer and other life-threatening diseases,” said Jeb Bush Jr., chair of FOSJ. “Thanks to our partners and South Florida’s ongoing support, Friends of St. Jude raised more than $260,000 to help ensure no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for their treatment, travel, housing or food.”

The event was chaired by Magda R. Brenner, Desire Valls and Frances Hassun. Production was handled by Lourdes Milian Production.

Event hosts included journalist and anchor of Univision Network’s news-magazine show Primer Impacto Pamela Silva Conde and recording artist Jencarlos Canela. Celebrity Auctioneer was Enrique Santos, and the entertainment included music performances by The Culture Band and DJ Troubles.

Respected actor, producer and philanthropist Eduardo Verastegui received the “Friends of St. Jude Ambassador Award.” Event Producer and long term St. Jude supporter, Lourdes Milian received the “Stephan Gutierrez Award”.

Other notable celebrities in attendance this year included artists, television and radio personalities, such as Adrianne Calvo, Alberto Sardiñas, Charlie Lapson, Claudia Molina, Johnny Sky, Juan Pablo Galavis, Lena Burke, Lindsay Casinelli, Gloria Ordaz, Rodner Figueroa, Alicia Machado, Sonya Smith, Danilo Carrera, Maria Elena Salinas, among others.

International Dermatology served as the event’s title sponsor for the sixth consecutive year.
