Bohemian Pentameter
Performance Supports Arts Education from the Ground Up
On Tuesday, November 17 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., the community has the opportunity to come out and support SoBe Arts by attending Bohemian Pentameter. This theatrical affair is a fashionable arts and cocktail event with performances that will feature violin, cello, clavichord/harpsichord (keyboards), guitar, percussion (and ancient bassoon), vocalists and actresses. Additionally, there will be food by Epicure and Casali’s, wine provided by Crown Wine & Spirits and vodka cocktails – not to mention models in Bohemian looks from Calypso-Bal Harbour.
Tucked away in a charming nook adjacent to the Miami Beach Convention Center and Miami Beach Botanical Garden is the SoBe Institute of the Arts (SoBe Arts) located in the historic Carl Fisher Clubhouse, Little Stage Theater and neighboring park.
This little gem, which is supported by the City of Miami Beach, is a fine example of Miami Beach’s commitment to the artistic growth of Miami-Dade County as a whole. Headed by Executive Director, Dr. Carson Kievman, a graduate of Princeton University, the organization has focused upon the long-term need to develop opportunities for quality performance events and arts education.
“Bohemian Pentameter has been put together to give the community a taste of what we are doing here at SoBe Arts,” said Dr. Kievman. “We’re very excited to have arts and culture lovers come to the Institute, located in the historic Carl Fisher Clubhouse/Little Stage Theater Complex, and see how we have repurposed these previously shuttered structures for the cultural betterment of Miami Beach and Miami-Dade as a whole. These are magical spaces, sitting in a park-like setting along the Dade Canal between the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens and the Miami City Ballet/Bass Museum in Collins Park. I encourage people to come and experience a wonderful evening and to help ensure that Miami continues to evolve as a cultural community with the addition of SoBe Arts’ distinctive professional performances and high level arts education accessible to all.”
Bohemian Pentameter is $50 in advance and $60 at the door. SoBe Arts is located at 2100 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach. Click Here to buy tickets now , or call 305-674-9220.
