About St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital

Daisy Fuentes with St. Jude patients Stephan Boehme Gutierrez and Lucas Solberg

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was founded by the late entertainer, Danny Thomas on the foundation that “no child should die in the dawn of life” or “be turned away for an inability to pay”. St. Jude treats children from every state and from 80 foreign countries and has never turned a family away for an inability to pay. Families with and without insurance are accepted.

St. Jude doctors conduct approximately 250 domestic consultations per month. An estimated 160 are international consultations and 90 are from Latin American countries. St. Jude treats children with catastrophic childhood illnesses from brain tumors to leukemia to brittle bone disease. St. Jude is first and foremost a research hospital so everything learned is freely shared with hospitals and institutions around the world. Eighty-five cents of every dollar received goes directly to the hospital. To learn more, visit www.stjude.org/miamigala.
