American Cancer Society’s 2019 Miami Annual Gala

A night of elegance and Cuban flair

The American Cancer Society raised over $800,000 at its 2019 Miami Annual Gala presented by Chairman Partner La Colonia Medical Center. The Annual Gala took place at the JW Marriott Marquis. Over 550 influential leaders within Miami’s social and corporate communities gathered for a philanthropic night filled with lushness and Cuban flair.

“The Acevedo Family was honored to have been selected as Chairs for this year’s Gala. Our commitment to the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission has been a long-lasting one. We gave our all to make the night of April 6 and unforgettable one, full of our vibrant Cuban culture and a genuine pledge to end cancer once and for all. We are sure this gala was one of Miami’s best events in 2019. ” said Dr. Jorge Acevedo.

Over five hundred influential leaders within Miami’s social and corporate communities participated in this exquisite Gala, raising much-needed funds to support the organization’s mission to save lives, celebrate lives and lead the fight for a world without cancer. The event inspired in 1920s Cuba was chaired by Jorge and Yenin Acevedo, Heide & Jose Dans and Ana & Tony Figueroa Cisneros as honorary chairs, and Jenisbel Acevedo, executive chair. Miami Annual Gala’s Executive Committee was composed of Lilliam Machado and Remedios Diaz-Oliver. Event-goers enjoyed a live auction, extraordinary dinner, entertainment and late-night dancing in charge of Aymée Nuviola and her salsa orchestra and DJ King Africa. Emcees for the night were Univision’s Anchors – Ambrosio Hernández and Sandra Peebles.
