Concerts & Performances, Family/Children EventsJourney to the Land of the Dead and experience the 2017 Academy Award®-winning film Coco on the big screen as a live orchestra performs Michael Giacchino’s beautiful score. Coco tells the story of a 12-year-old boy named Miguel and his visit to the Land of the Dead. In order to return to his family, Miguel seeks the help of his great-great-grandfather, a deceased musician. There is a show beginning at 7 p.m. and between shows, continue the Day of the Dead celebration outside with El Día de los Muertos en la Plaza from 4 to 7 p.m. on the Thomson Plaza for the Arts. Activities will include creating a traditional ofrenda, marigold making, mariachi and conjunto performances, face painting and a Coco-inspired costume contest! El Día de los Muertos en la Plaza is free to attend.
