Benefitting The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, over 150 cultural philanthropists, civic leaders and science supporters attended the museum’s fall fundraiser.
The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science and its Board of Trustees welcomed over 150 cultural philanthropists, civic leaders and science supporters for An Evening of Discovery: Discovering the Ocean’s Secrets. The museum’s fall fundraiser was held in support of exhibitions and community programs at Frost Science. The evening began with an intimate reception featuring music by students from the Frost School of Music, along with an exclusive viewing of the new special exhibition, Sharks. Following the reception, guests made their way inside the Ocean Gallery for the evening’s program and dinner. Frost Science President & CEO Dr. Doug Roberts welcomed the crowd before introducing a video message from Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and remarks from City of Miami Commissioner Sabina Covo. Dr. Phillip Frost addressed the esteemed guests before a riveting presentation by Dr. Michael Heithaus (Florida International University’s Executive Dean, College of Arts, Science & Education). Dr. Heithaus shared his expertise on the importance of ocean science and conservation before an elegant and creative three-course dinner prepared by Constellation Culinary Group. Notable guests included Dr. Phillip and Patricia Frost, Frost Science Board Chairman Cesar L. Alvarez, Dr. Mark Yeager, Senator René García, and Jane Hsiao.
