The Hard Hats & High Heels Host Committee of 2024 was led this year by an exceptional group of women, including Yvonne Debesa as Chair, Lydia Sacasa as Co-Chair, Erbi Blanco-True as Chair Emeritus, Lourdes Rey-Wilson as Silent Auction Chair, and Yesenia Moreno as Sponsorship Chair. The HH&HH Host Committee organized a spectacular event on Thursday, June 6th, 2024, at the beautiful Rusty Pelican in Key Biscayne.

The Hard Hats & High Heels 9th Annual Cocktail Reception & Silent Auction brought together a diverse group of Miami’s professional, social, and philanthropic leaders, all united by their commitment to supporting Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami. The focus of our Hard Hats & High Heels event is building affordable housing for low-income single mothers in Miami-Dade County.

The evening was a delightful mix of open bars, tantalizing hors d’oeuvres, a fun-filled photo booth, a captivating 360 photo booth, an awesome DJ, a delightful coffee bar, mouthwatering sliders and fries, desserts, and dancing that kept the energy high. The silent auction also added to the excitement, offering a range of coveted items. However, the true highlight of the evening was the moving speech by Karla Romero, a recent single-mother homeowner. She shared a touching video of her sons witnessing their newly decorated bedrooms in their new home for the first time, creating an impactful and heartwarming moment for all in attendance. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, underwriters, and donors, the HH&HH 2024 event was an incredible success, attracting over 300 guests and raising $200,000.
