Arsht Center’s 11th Annual Gala
Gala concert hosted by Gloria Estefan featured world-class female artists
Star power was in full effect at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County as it celebrated women in the arts during its 11th Annual Gala. World-renowned artists such as Gloria Estefan, Rita Moreno, Chita Rivera, Storm Large, Vanessa Williams and many more graced the stage as they were honored for their commitment to the arts. Presenters and performers such as Nancy Cartwright, Elena Maria Garcia, Judith Jamison, Tig Notaro, Michelle Ortiz, Denyce Graves, Nicole Henry, Alicia Hall Moran, Melissa Schott, Bria Skonberg, Madeline Smith and Marina Radiushina joined the celebration along with notable, South Florida-based organizations including Miami Chamber Music Society, Women of Note Chorus and Miami City Ballet.
The occasion also included Adrienne Arsht, the Center’s name benefactor and Gala Honorary Chair, along with Gala Chairs such as Tony & Conchi Argiz; Armando & Margarita Codina; Ira & Carole Hall; and Alan Fein & Susan Westfall. Close to 1,000 South Florida arts and culture supporters, community leaders and philanthropists also attended the event in an effort to raise funds for the Center’s arts education and community outreach programs including AileyCamp Miami, recipient of the 2016 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award given by the White House and former First Lady Michelle Obama.
Gala guests enjoyed decadent post-show desserts by Chef Soraya Kilgore and high-energy music provided by Soul Survivors. Guests were dancing on stage until after midnight.
