The Miami Book Fair International
An “eight-day literary party” - November 15 - 22
One of Miami’s most cherished literary events is just around the corner! The Miami Book Fair International will be taking place from November 15-22, and will include the usual flurry of well-respected authors, celebrity guests, and, of course, its beloved Street Fair.
A self-described “eight-day literary party,” the Book Fair celebrates its 32nd year with a kick-off party on November 15th, featuring music from DJ Patrick Walsh, poetry on demand from Miami Poetry Collective, a community BBQ, and beer from Biscayne Bay brewing.
During the fair, there will be six nights of its popular “Evenings With” series, which involves readings and conversations with noted authors from around the world. This year’s “Evenings With” guests include poet Patti Smith, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jane Smiley, David Axelrod, Alexandra Fuller, Robert B. Reich, Gary Snyder, Sally Mann, Jeanette Winterson, and news legend Tom Brokaw.
Other noteworthy events include a book signing with actor/writer Jesse Eisenberg, who’s best known for his performance as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in the film “The Social Network,” as well as a special live dramatic reading of Sophocles’ “Ajax” and “Philoctetes” by Oscar-nominated actors Paul Giamatti (“Sideways”) and David Strathairn (“Good Night, and Good Luck”) on Saturday, November 21st.
The street fair will run from November 20 to 22 and will feature more than 450 authors reading and discussing their work, and over 250 publishers and booksellers exhibiting and selling books.
The 32nd annual Miami Book Fair international will take place on Miami-Dade College’s Wolfson Campus, located at 300 N.E. 2nd Avenue, Downtown Miami.
