Performance Series Kicks Off October 24

October 24 kicks off Pinecrest Garden’s monthly jazz concert series, made possible by funding from the Knight Foundation and South Motors. An all-star line-up will perform, including Ed Calle and the 305 All-Star Big Band, Jazz Master Branford Marsalis, Grammy Award-winner Doc Severinsen, Maria Rivas (pictured), Loston Harris, the Carmen Lundy Quintet, and the Vinicius Cantuaria Quintet.

Review: The Diary of a Teenage Girl

So begins “The Diary of a Teenage Girl,” a fearless coming of age story that feels like a product of a bygone era, a time before political correctness was the name of the game. Because unlike most properties that make their way into the Hollywood machine, “Diary” is not afraid of inciting the judgment and outrage so pervasive in our everyday lives today, and it’s not concerned with making sure you’re comfortable.
