Now in its second year, the evening of exceptional music held in The Frost Art Museum at FIU’s Permanent Collection galleries continues on December 15 with a special performance by Seraphic Fire. This extraordinary fundraising event will begin with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. After the special performance by Seraphic Fire amid the Frost’s Permanent Collection, guests will have the opportunity to mingle with the ensemble choir group. Proceeds benefit the Museum’s free public programming.

The Frost Art Museum, located within a large urban institution, provides an exceptional resource for scholarly research and interdisciplinary collaboration, augmenting the university’s educational mission as both a local and global center of knowledge and culture. The mission of the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum at FIU is to enrich and educate local, national and international audiences through the language of art by collecting, preserving, researching, interpreting and exhibiting art from diverse cultures throughout human history.

The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum at FIU envisions itself as a cultural beacon for South Florida, offering exhibitions and public programs that are integrated into the life of the community, as well its being a dynamic, research-oriented university visual arts institution that is a center for interdisciplinary training.

The Frost Art Museum opened its current 46,000-square-foot state of the art building in November, 2008. Since then over 50,000 people have visited the Museum in its new building. Admission to the Museum is always free.

The Frost is an AAM accredited museum and Smithsonian affiliate and is located at 10975 S.W. 17th Street across from the Blue garage and adjacent to the Wertheim Performing Arts Center on the Modesto A. Maidique Campus. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.; closed on Mondays and most legal holidays.
