Art Basel Vip Brunch At Fairchild
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables, dedicated to exploring, explaining and conserving the world of tropical plants, recently hosted their annual Art Basel VIP Brunch in conjunction with its Art Basel sanctioned exhibit of Hugo França’s (pronounced [fɾánsa]) sustainable design pieces. The brunch was hosted by Fairchild Garden President Bruce Greer and Trustee Lin Lougheed, and approximately 250 people attended, including França. Originally from Brazil, França uses all natural materials to create interactive, functional and sustainable pieces, often tables and seating. Each piece uses reclaimed wood from felled, burned or dead trees found in Brazil. The exhibit continues through May 31, 2014 and entry is included in the price of regular admission.
