Thursday night, glamorous public relations director Lauren Gnazzo showcased the opening of South Beach Stories, Versace’s Art Basel exhibition created in collaboration with interior designer Sasha Bikoff. The event was located at the Versace Store in the heart of the Miami Design District. The event had two stops. First, guests entered the Versace store — greeted with champagne — and invited to view Versace‘s bright and colorful interior furniture and accessories. Then, the party moved upstairs to the Palm Court ballroom for specialty cocktails, tuna tartare, gruyere pretzels, and chocolate truffles while they enjoyed sounds from a fashionable DJ. Oversized photographs from the 1990s of Gianni Versace and his male models adorned the walls with a color scheme of turquoise, yellow, orange, and blue. The photographs took viewers back to the days of Versace strolling the streets of Ocean Drive, prior to the tragic death of the fashion icon. Notable people in attendance included Deborah Hung, artist Diplo, Lauren Lyles, Erica Pelosini, Shepard Fairy, Erin Newberg, and Craig Robbins.

Saturday morning, SCOPE hosted notable Miami Beach families at a Young Collectors breakfast event. Notables who came with their families included Cristina and Shlomi Ben Shmuel, food columnist Sara Liss, Sasha and Jason Goldsmith, Ronit and Steven Wasserstein, Laurie and Oliver Lloyd, Clara Lowenstein, Jamie Rubinson, Alexandra and James Bergman, Jacquelynn Powers Maurice and Roman Maurice. Children ranged from pre-school to high school and were given the opportunity to speak with the show’s directors as well as personally engage with artists and art dealers. Porsche had an interactive drawing exhibit.  Earlier in the week, Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber had a private viewing of the show  – organized by Vanessa Menkes Public Relations. It opened on Tuesday with a preview for VIPs including Katy Stoka, Maya Ezratti, Suzy Buckley, Brett Graff, Neelam Chatani, and Jennifer Sazant.
