In 2009, the “Be a Voice, Have a Heart” Gala will be hosted once more at the Mandarin Oriental, Miami. The cocktail reception and silent auction will start at 7 p.m. followed by dinner at 9 p.m. A landmark in Miami’s fundraising scene, the 2009 Be A Voice Gala will celebrate Voices For Children’s 25th Anniversary of youth advocacy and support.

Five hundred of South Florida’s most influential and affluent citizens regularly attend the annual Be A Voice Gala. The event also serves as a platform to recognize the extraordinary contributions of individuals and organizations working for the benefit of Miami-Dade’s abused, abandoned, and neglected children. This springtime event carries a different theme every year, delighting and surprising its guests with every new edition.

Last February’s gala raised nearly $800,000 in revenue and in-kind support to benefit the 11th Judicial Circuit Guardian Ad Litem Program. For more information, contact Jason Cover at 305-324-5678, Ext. 17, or by email at Jcover@voices4.org.

The organization holds two other signature events throughout the year to raise funds and awareness for Voices for Children and the Guardian Ad Litem Program. These are the “Be A Voice Awards Luncheon,” which recognizes those individuals and corporations who have made a significant contributions in the area of child abuse and neglect, and the day-long event with family activities called “A Children’s Celebration,” whose purpose is to bring the community closer to the lives and experiences of children in foster care through an exhibit of their own artistic work. The Be A Voice Gala is the foundation’s largest and most elegant fundraiser.
