Black History Celebration
Over 300 children and adults of all ages gathered at North Shore Park & Youth Center in celebration of Black History Month and the achievements of African Americans from past to present. After school members from North Shore Park and Scott Rakow Youth Center performed a variety of dances, recited poems and sang songs of some of the greatest hits by African American artists. In addition to the entertainment, an arts and crafts exhibit presented by the arts and craft club members from the after school program displayed an array of African American art pieces.
