Mdglcc Hosts Sold Out Celebration
Close to 600 guests attended the Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber Of Commerce (MDGLCC) 12th Annual Awards Gala, Celebration of the Sun–The Yellow Gala, to pay tribute to the corporate and individual supporters of the Miami-Dade LGBT community who were honored this year. The event held at the Hilton Miami Downtown Hotel, honored two organizations and one individual for their long-term commitment to fostering diversity, as well as for their efforts in contributing to the overall well-being and quality of life in South Florida. Kicking off the Gala festivities was the MDGLCC’s silent auction which featured more than 70 items up for bidding. Several exotic trips, including Source Event’s Lisbon to Barcelona cruise and a trip to San Francisco, were among the most popular items. Honored this year were: AT&T Business of the Year Award – Kaufman, Rossin & Co., P.A.; Sherwin-Williams Business Person of the Year Award – David Bromstad (pictured); Regions Bank Non-Profit Organization of the Year Award – Miami-Dade County Public Schools. In addressing the guests during the awards presentation, Astrid Rodriguez, Managing Director and Investment Officer at Wells Fargo, the Gala’s presenting sponsor, announced to the crowd, We at Wells Fargo are honored to support the MDGLCC and its many good works in the community.
