Community Partnership for Homeless

Seventh Annual Gala

On October 24, 400 guests celebrated the Seventh Annual Gala of Community Partnership for Homeless (CPH), Miami’s national model for effectiveness in support of the homeless. Gala Chair, Trish Bell, had the ballroom of the JW Marriott , the evening’s sponsor, stunningly decorated with over 12,000 candles in keeping with the theme, “You Light Up My Life”.

The evening included presentation by CPH Board Chairman, Robert E. Chisholm, of the Alvah H. Chapman, Jr. “Humanitarian Award” to Health Foundation of South Florida, and recognition of the Batchelor Foundation as “Angel to the Homeless” for matching table sales. Event emcee was Ramon Rasco, President of CPH’s “Next Generation Council”. Sherri Patchen sang “You Light Up My Life” and a video described the success story of former CPH resident, Desmond.

This year’s sponsors were Publix Super Markets Charities, Armando Codina, Trish and Dan Bell, Paula and Bob Brockway, Carnival, Susan and James Carr, Swanee and Paul DiMare, Nancy and Robert Hector, Kendra and John Malloy, Jr., Penny and Roe Stamps, Sol Taplin Foundation, Kirk Landon and Pamela Garrison, and Multivision Video/Film.
