Constitution Day at Freedom Tower
Hundreds of prominent civic leaders, elected officials, public servants, and members of the business and philanthropic communities gathered at the Freedom Tower at Miami-Dade College in downtown Miami to celebrate Constitution Day. Constitution Day is a federal observance honoring the U.S. Constitution and the rights it bestows on United States citizens. The law firm of Higer Lichter Givner, HistoryMiami, and Legal Services of Greater Miami hosted this second-annual event, which featured readings from the Constitution, a flag presentation by Boy Scout Troop 80 and the presentation of iPads as prizes to the middle-school and high-school winners of a Constitution-themed essay contest.
