More than 20 original works by popular Russian-Peruvian artist Lisa Diakova—including paintings, drawings, and dolls—will be on display in the opening of Miami Art Week. Diakova, a pop surrealist whose works can be found in private collections around the world, is best known for her delicate portraits of stylized characters that tug at the mind and spirit. A portion of the night’s proceeds will be donated to Biscayne Bay Kiwanis Club, one of South Florida’s leading service organizations, to help further their work with underprivileged youth in the community. Other works from various artists will also be exhibited. Music will include Jazz/Blues vocals by Haitian artist, Wendy Tercier, accompanied by acclaimed pianist and opera singer, Novell Allen. An open bar with cocktail menu will be sponsored by Bombay Sapphire. 1920s attire is not mandatory, but encouraged. A prize will be awarded for best costume! Tickets for the opening are $20 per person and can be purchased at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1920s-art-soiree-with-lisa-diakova-sponsored-by-bombay-sapphire-tickets-19545847155?aff=ebrowse.
