In celebration of the third chapter of On the Horizon: Contemporary Cuban Art from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection, join artists Carlos Garaicoa and Glexis Novoa for a discussion about their work and its relation to the chapter’s theme of Domestic Anxieties—a selection of works that explores everyday life and its attendant insecurities, stresses, and anxieties. Several works present images that map domestic interiors or intimate locations, while others reference the art world as a political arena filled with specific pressures and uncertainties. Garaicoa’s works Carta a los censores (Letter to Censors) (2003) and Porno-outraged Ceramics (Mouth Politic) (2014), and Novoa’s work, Revolico (Jumble) (2014), can be seen in On the Horizon through April 8, 2018.
