New York-based painter David Reed will give a walk-through and talk on his current exhibition “David Reed: Vice and Reflection – An Old Painting, New Paintings and Animations.” He will discuss the production of the four new large, site-specific paintings he created for this project, which reference a painting he produced in 1984-1985, titled #212(Vice) that was influenced by the saturated colors used in the TV program Miami Vice. He will additionally highlight his unique working process which involves the production of elaborate Working Drawings and Color Studies that are also on view in the exhibition. After the talk, enjoy an ’80s-themed dance party on the terrace.
