Visual artist Stan Douglas will discuss his film and photography practice and how it influences our understanding of history. Douglas draws inspiration from his intensive research and meticulous attention to detail, while utilizing live actors, costumes, props, and sets to render real and imagined scenes from the past with uncanny accuracy. Douglas’ work Luanda-Kinshasa (2013) —jointly acquired by PAMM and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art— is on view through September 25. Free with museum admission. Seating begins at 6:45 p.m. Space is limited. Admission to museum is $16 for adults, children under 6 free; active military (with ID) free; seniors (62+) $12; students (with ID) $12; and youth (ages 7 – 18) $12.
