A glittering 50th Anniversary celebration of George Balanchine’s Jewels will open Miami City Ballet’s 2017-18 season, sponsored by luxury jewelers Graff. This will mark the first time the company has performed Balanchine’s full-evening masterpiece in a decade. Jewels, performed to live music by MCB’s Opus One Orchestra, conducted by Gary Sheldon, is a full-length, plotless ballet in 3 parts: Emeralds, Rubies and Diamonds. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Jewels moves to Broward Center October 28 and Kravis Center on November 17. Tickets range from $25 to $105.
