Ballet meets world-class visual art and groundbreaking dramaturgy as Miami City Ballet concludes its season with an innovative reimagining of George Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Balanchine’s classic choreography is the vehicle for Shakespeare’s timeless tale of love, magic and illusion, with ravishing music by Felix Mendelssohn – including the famous Wedding March. Enjoy this new interpretation of the Balanchine/Shakespeare/Mendelssohn masterpiece, featuring a fairytale cast that includes 24 children and 6 vocalists, creative collaboration by two internationally acclaimed artists: Michele Oka Doner for original costumes and sets and Tarell Alvin McCraney for dramatic direction. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2. Tickets start at $20.
