Miami City Ballet: Program One: JewelsConcerts & Performances
Miami City Ballet’s Program One: Jewels is a full-length, plotless ballet in 3 parts: Emeralds, Rubies and Diamonds. The score includes the lush music of Faur for the romantic Emeralds section, a witty, jazzy and scintillating Stravinsky score for Rubies, and a classical goldmine in the finale section, Diamonds, with music by Tchaikovsky. New York City Ballet premiered Jewels in 1967, making this the 50th anniversary, and MCB is celebrating this Balanchine signature ballet, last performed 10 years ago. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Jewels moves to the Kravis Center on November 17. Tickets range from $25 to $105.
