Join Sandra Jackson-Dumont, Chairman of Education at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, for the third Scholl Lecture of the season. Jackson-Dumont will highlight her extensive work on artist Kerry James Marshall and will detail Marshall’s commitment to presenting powerful and centrally visible Black bodies and his insistence on #blackexcellence while emphasizing the important role of museums as sites to discuss resounding public issues. Marshall’s work< Campfire Girls, 1995, on loan from the De Ying Foundation, is currently on view as part of collection exhibition The Gift of Art at PAMM. Each attendee will receive a complimentary copy of the publication Kerry James Marshall: A Creative Convening, courtesy of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, while supplies last.
