Franklin Sirmans welcomes Gaspar González for a conversation about his work, including the subject of his documentary film, “A Long Way from Home: The Untold Story of Baseball’s Desegregation.” Both speakers share an interest of bringing sports into the museum world. Last year, Gonzalez organized the HistoryMiami Museum exhibition Beyond the Game: Sports and the Evolution of South Florida and Sirmans is currently preparing the exhibition Futbol: the Beautiful Game and its relationship to South Florida for 2018.
