Excited by the success of last year’s auction, Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management has just gone live with its second auction. All proceeds from the bidding will benefit the school’s scholarship program, grants for students to attend industry conferences, and funding for student teaching assistantships. Sponsored by Carnival Cruise Lines, the online auction offers a great opportunity for bidders to purchase fabulous travel and hospitality packages at very affordable prices.
“We were very pleased with the outcome of our first online auction and hope to exceed our goals this year,” said Mike Hampton, Dean of Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. “The monies raised help our students pursue their dreams of a career in hospitality, and we are thrilled that our dedicated industry partners, alumni and supporters have joined us again to participate.”
Hundreds of auction items are available for bidding from September 5 to October 2, 2011, ranging in price from $500 to $25,000. Items include:

7-day spa vacation at Rancho La Puerta
4-night stay at JW Marriott Hotel Beijing in an Exclusive Executive Suite
2-night stay at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando
2-night VIP stay in a Penthouse Suite Tower at ARIA in Las Vegas with two tickets to Viva Elvis show by Cirque du Soleil and limo transportation to and from the airport.
