Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour hosts Friends of New World Symphony

On Wednesday, September 17, Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour along with SocialMiami will present THE CUSP EVENT. Enjoy sips and snacks as Neiman Marcus showcases the latest fall trends including luxe jewel tones, daring global chic prints, fall’s definitive neutral, and much more. The event begins at 6:30 pm. RSVP: RSVPBalHarbour@NeimanMarcus.com

In preparation for the upcoming CUSP event, the hostess committee participated in a Neiman Marcus photo shoot styled from the CUSP collection. Check out the fall styles and watch behind the scenes coverage to hear in their own words why these hostesses became involved with New World Symphony.

For information on how to join Friends of New World Symphony, visit www.nws.edu/friends or contact Iva Kosovic at 305-428-6734 or Iva.Kosovic@nws.edu. Over the past ten years, Friends of New World Symphony has established a group of young leaders who are both donors and advocates. Friends of NWS engages a younger generation with innovative New World Symphony concerts and chic after-hours events, supporting the continued growth of America’s Orchestral Academy. Everyone who joins Friends of NWS at the CUSP event on September 17 will receive a 10% discount off their membership.

Stacey Glassman Mizener

  • Parker beaded dress
  • Iro leather jacket
  • Alaia purple suede booties

Stacey founded Friends of the New World Symphony and was empowered with the challenge of bringing young men and women in their 20s and 30s to the symphony – a challenge that she accomplished.

When Stacey attends an opening she prefers vintage attire that captures the essence of old Hollywood glamour.

Florencia Jimenez Marcos

  • Elizabeth and James black mesh dress
  • Christian Louboutin black suede booties
  • Alexis Bittar bangles

Florencia is the president of Friends of the New World Symphony and claims to be the least musically inclined of all the board members. Florencia has been involved with many non-profits and says that Friends is the best run organization out of any with which she has been associated. She is also attracted to the New World Symphony’s community outreach programs and the work they do in schools.

At openings, Florencia likes to mix it up with a little bit of rock-n-roll and little bit of classical with a twist. “Something structural that goes with the Gehry building,” she said.

Genevieve Guermont

  • Joie printed top
  • Haute Hippie feather skirt
  • Philip Lim leather jacket
  • Christian Louboutin patent pumps

Genevieve believes that the symphony is one of the most beautiful art forms because of the way in which it transcends age, time and space.

On opening nights, Genevieve likes to stay on the elegant side, but mixes in a little bit of chic – longer skirt, flashy top and a cover up.

Liza Gallardo Walton

  • Alexander McQueen printed dress
  • Charlotte Olympia suede pumps

Though Liza admits to being a failed musician, she also admits to loving music. She says that Friends is a great way to learn about classical music, get some culture, do something positive for the community, all while spending time with friends.

On opening night, Liza goes for comfort. She prefers something short to show off her legs and, of course, dancing shoes.

Jessica Wade Pfeffer

  • Helmut Lang leather skirt
  • Helmut Lang black top
  • Iro leather jacket
  • Saint Laurent gold booties

Jessica has a soft spot in her heart for music as her grandfather was a violinist and her uncle was a music professor.

Her opening night attire is contingent on the type of event. The Symphony’s Pulse events, which mix classical music with a DJ, would require a completely different outfit than the Symphony’s gala event.

Dana Hagendorf

  • Haute Hippie black dress
  • Francesco Russo black booties
  • Alexis Bittar necklace

Dana has lived in Miami for three years and found that Friends of New World Symphony was a great way to meet new people with similar interests.

On opening night, Dana recommends that symphony attendees wear clothes that make them feel comfortable and confident.

Jessica Anderson

  • Opening Ceremony dress
  • Alexander McQueen mesh top
  • Christian Louboutin black booties
  • Alexis Bittar earrings

A friend got Jessica involved with Friends of New World Symphony when she first moved to Miami a couple of years ago. She loves meeting new people through the group and being involved with the arts.

On opening nights, Jessica gets decked out, but also focuses on comfort, especially if dancing is involved.
