Greater Miami Jewish Federation Pacesetter Event Raises $1.6 Million

Pacesetter Event Co-Chairs Ian and Leslie Kaplan and Rachel and Mario Sapoznik

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation Pacesetter Dinner drew more than 350 Jewish community leaders to the Fontainebleau Hilton Hotel on December 9, 2004 and raised over $1.6 million. The event, which helped launch the 2005 Federation/UJA Campaign, was chaired by Leslie and Ian Kaplan and Rachel and Mario Sapoznik and included a moving fundraising address by Saby Behar, Federation’s 2005 General Campaign Chair. The Pacesetter Event recognized major donors to the Annual Campaign, which provides a vital lifeline of services to people in Miami, in Israel and in 60 countries worldwide. It was a night of serious fundraising combined with a performance by The Capitol Steps, which featured their special style of politically incorrect humor. Corporate sponsors for this event included The Collection, Akerman Senterfitt, Greenberg Traurig, P.A., The Miami Herald, AON Risk Services, BellCare Nurses Registry, Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP, Marcus & Millichap and Mellon.
