His House Imagine Charity Gala

His House Children’s Home, a private non-profit, faith-based organization dedicated to restoring the lives of children from newborn to 18 years of age, announced plans for its “forever” home, a 90,000 square feet home-like facility in Miami Gardens, during the organization’s annual fund-raising gala, aptly themed “Imagine”. The Gala took place at JW Marriott Marquis Miami.
The gala was sponsored by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. Bacardi, Capital Trust Global Consulting, Nancy Hector, Finker-Frenkel Foundation, SeaLand Discovery Communication, Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP; Event Production by A Touch of Class Event Production; Floral Design by The Art of Floral Design.
His House Children’s Home plans to move into its new location in the Fall of 2020. Plans are underway for a home-like campus setting with a capacity for 250 children, staffed with nurturing caregivers. The new His House Campus will also be home to its clinical department – with medical and psycho-social services and case management, crisis intervention enrichment programs, and tutoring services. The new facility is just a few miles away from its current location in Miami Gardens, Florida. Last year alone, close to 1,100 children called His House their home.
“Expansion into the new facility is part of His House’s commitment to increasing capacity to keep sibling groups together, which is critical for their well-being during their traumatic separation from their parents,” said Silvia Smith-Torres, Executive Director, His House Children’s Home.
For nearly 30 years, His House has brought stability to the lives of more than 15,000 children and remains a front-line provider of residential and foster care services. The organization is licensed by the Department of Children and Families in Miami-Dade County as a child caring and child placement agency. His House contracts with Our Kids in Miami-Dade and ChildNet in Broward County.
Monies raised at the gala will go toward providing care and homes to the children served at His House.
