The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County celebrated the anticipated national tour launch and Florida premiere of I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE with a Cocktail Hour event hosted by 101.5 Lite FM’s Julie Guy.

Attendees enjoyed an evening of kitsch, comedy and classics as they sipped on Mojitos and Tropicana-inspired cocktails at the Center’s Ziff Ballet Opera House lobby. Guests were treated to live performances by Miami Gay Men’s Chorus, and were also able to admire classic cars from the Dezer Collection Auto Museum, and Desi Arnaz memorabilia from History Miami’s latest exhibition “American Sabor Exhibit: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music!”

To top things off, fans were encouraged to channel their best Lucy Ricardo and enter the “Look Like Lucy Contest” judged by local fashion bloggers Gino R. Campódonico (TheMANnequinParty.com), Kalyn James (FashionStyleMiami.com) and Annie Vazquez (TheFashionPoet.com). The winner, Jan Downs Rutter, won a prize package that included tickets to see I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE on opening night and a pin-up style photo shoot courtesy of Terribly Girly Photography by Janette Valentine. The “I Love Lucy Cocktail Hour” was part of DWNTWN Art Days 2014.

I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE launches the 2014-2015 Broadway in Miami subscription season presented by the Arsht Center, Broadway Across America and Bank of America. A limited run of performances will begin at the Arsht Center on September 30 thought October 5. For more information, please visit www.arshtcenter.org
