Guests attending the 14th annual InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball can expect their experience to begin the minute they arrive at the InterContinental Miami’s limo-lined porte-cochere. The excitement continues throughout the mezzanine reception with elaborate silent auction items – now a standard attraction at the annual gala. The Ball builds up to a glittering crescendo in the Grand Ballroom where 750 of the most glamorous and big-hearted philanthropists will be utterly dazzled by what awaits them.
The Host Committee includes: Gala Host, InterContinental Miami General Manager Jack Miller; 2008 Ball Chair, Shareef Malnik; Lifetime Benefactors, Nancy and Al Malnik; Wish Benefactor, James L. Ferraro; Grand Benefactors, Stanley and Gala Cohen; and Founding Benefactors, Howard and Barbara Glicken. Details of the live entertainment, sponsored by John Cardillo of The Sentinel Group, and live auction will be announced soon.
In its 13-year history, the InterContinental Make-A-Wish Ball has raised in excess of $6 million. With these much needed funds, the Foundation has been able to grant more than 1,200 wishes for deserving children in our community. VIP guests to the Ball have included Sharon Stone, Scottie and Larsa Pippen, Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons, Venus and Serena Williams, Don King, Sex and the City’s Candace Bushnell, Marcus Schenkenberg, Pauly Shore, and performers Macy Gray, Natalie Cole and Wyclef Jean.
Tables for the InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball range from $5,000 to $20,000, and for the past three consecutive years, seats have been sold out well before the event. Wish Sponsors range from $5,000 to $100,000. For reservations contact Stephanie Rumin at 888-773-9474, Ext. 318, or by email to srumin@sflawish.org.
