The Jackson Memorial Foundation, the organization that for over 20 years has led fundraising efforts for specific projects needed by the Jackson Health System, celebrated its 2013 Golden Angels Gala at the JW Marriott Marquis, where attendees enjoyed an evening full of elegance, succulent menu options, live entertainment, dancing and raffles, while raising over $850,000.

“Angels were out in full swing that evening by generously contributing to our efforts! We are grateful for the continued support of our donors, who allow us to help make improvements that keep Jackson at the forefront of critical medicine and serving our community in so many ways,” said Thomas J. Schramm, CEO of the Jackson Memorial Foundation.

The Golden Angels Gala is known as one of the most highly-attended galas in Miami, where local business and community leaders, as well as society power players, gather to raise funds for Jackson Health System, which includes Jackson Memorial Hospital, Holtz Children’s Hospital, Jackson North, Jackson South, Ryder Trauma Center as well as the women’s hospital center, a rehabilitation hospital, 18 school-based programs, two long-term care nursing facilities, and both primary and specialty care centers across Miami-Dade County.

Fana Holtz and Roberta Chaplin, Chairmen of the 2013 Gala Committee, led the organization of the event.

This year’s Gala honored the members of the Golden Angel Society, Jackson Memorial Foundation’s prestigious donor recognition club. Among others recognized that evening were Ron and Janie Kupferman, Honorary Chairmen; Hope of a Miracle Foundation, Honorary Foundation Sponsor; Graff, Honorary Corporate Sponsor; Ken Gorin from THE COLLECTION, Honorary Corporate Sponsor; and Greenberg Traurig, Corporate Sponsor.

Attendees were also able to take part in raffles that included prizes such as: a 2013 Audi Q5, donated by THE COLLECTION, and a trip for up to 4 passengers aboard a private Phenom 300 Jet to New York, among others.
